Outstanding Member

Posted January 18, 2010

Congratulations to our 2009 outstanding member....Jacob Wallace.  This is Jacob's first year in the BRE club.  He exhibit Carolina, a yearling Cheviot ewe at the York County Fall Livestock Show, Union County Fair, and SC State Fair.  He did a wonderful job representing our club at each show!  His hard work showed off many times as he won Grand Champion and placed in the top 3 in all of his showmanship classes.  Jacob and his family also volunteered at petting zoos and attend all of our meetings!  Way to go Jacob...we are very proud of you!

Ewes for Youth

Posted October 20, 2009

Congrats to Rachel Nance.  She has been choosen to recieve a bred Southdown ewe from the American Southdown Breeders Association.  Rachel will travel to the NAILE in Louisville, KY to pick up her ewe on Nov. 14th.  She was selected based on her application and answers to a series of questions.

Rachel is the second BaaRamEweths Club member to win a lamb from a national program this year.  Sarah Garrison recieved Maizie (a Scottish Blackface)  through the Youth Conservation Program.  If you are interested in either of these programs or any of the others please contact me for more information.

The Cheviot Starter Flock, Ewes for Youth (Southdown), Youth Conservation Program (endangered breeds),  and Rising Star Ewe Lamb Award (Hampshire), are all programs where you can win a lamb to expand or start your own flock.

Congrats!

Show season is upon us.  We began this weekend with three shows in two days in two different states!  It was a lot of work but a lot of fun.  Pictures from two of the three shows will be posted today.  Congrats to all of our members.  We had 5 showmanship winners, 6 Grand Champions, and 7 Reserve Champions!  It was a great weekend!  I hope everyone had a great time!

Lamb Camp

Posted August 8, 2009
Lamb camp was great today!  It was a long day with lots of information for all kids new and old but we had tons of fun.  I hope that everyone learned a little bit.  We had multiple guest speakers, a great lunch (thanks Nana) and a skill-a-thon contest.  I hope that next year it won't be quite so HOT!

Welcome!

As leader of the BaaRamEweths 4-H Club I would like to welcome everyone to our website.  We are just getting started but plan to have our website up and running with new information soon.  If you have any questions about our club please feel free to contact me!

New & Improved

Welcome to our website, enjoy your visit!

BaaRamEweths 4-H club was founded in January 2005 by William and Caci Nance.  At that time there were no other lamb clubs in the state of South Carolina.  We have grown from 2 members to almost 20 members in 4 very short years.  Members of our club raise and/or show sheep at various shows throughout North & South Carolina.  These kids have overcome some high hurdles through the years, the cutting of their state Jr. show, difficultly finding lambs, and just growing up.  It is a great joy to work with such a wonderful group of people.  Keep checking back as we will have new postings regularly.
